Maybe it is considered a nu metal, but IMO the nu genre stopped being metal, when they mixed metal with hip hop and other genres, so basically it stopped being metal the moment it was created.<br><b>References : </b><br> I don’t think Slipknot is HM.

Their old stuff is Heavy Metal but their newer stuff has gotten slightly more towards Nu-Metal. But they're usually counted as a heavy metal band though. There new CD is killer drums with fast double kick pedal, and there guitars are hard riffs with some solo's and the singing is screamed somewhat, and those qualities fit the description of metal, so I guess they are somewhat considered metal.
