How do you put a slight tarnish on new galvinized roofing to make it match older metal on roof now ??

dont want it to rust just take the shine off

Try hose end sprayer w/ tri sodium phosphate if its already on the roof. or wipe it down prior to installation.

Try a vinegar wash. But, anytime you remove the factory "shine" from tin, you will promote eventual rust thru. It will take a long time, to actually rust, but it will rust. Once washed with vinegar, the metal will loose it’s sheen, and will develop a whitish hue, that will appear mottled.

Wipe it down with a wet rag that had some salt on it. The best way is to just let it set in the weather. It will age naturally and it should be a match in about 6 months.
