I have had a 100% … I have had a 100% success rate doing it this way. I have also done it the way your talking about. This way allows you to be only 3″ out of the valley where you would be much wider. I learned this way when I got certified through Englert and Fabral. I also used to break my valleys with a built in hem. It takes too long to fabricate the valleys and it’s hard to get it to look perfect where they tie into the ridge. What kind of prices are you paying for metal in your area?
I see alot of … I see alot of cobbled up non union metal roofs but i can honestly say you guys are doin it right. The only thing i would do different is turn a 1″ hem on the sides of your valley and hook that with custom made clips and nail or screw those to the roof. Then hook your sheets dirctly to the valley that way there is no chance for a leak from that butyl tape. I would like to see how you guys terminate your hip cap at the bottoms.
