What are the differences between a Heavy Metal Guitar and a Normal Electric Guitar? Is there any differences or not? Can I makea Normal Electric Guitar to sound like a Heavy Metal Guitar? And please give me some examples of some Heavy Metal Guitar.
Heavy metal guitars are all about distortion and sustain for playing heavy riffs and lightning fast solos. Electric guitars can be used for Pop, Rock, Jazz, Country, and just about anything else you can think of. To make a regular electric guitar a heavy metal guitar you may need to get new pickups, such as EMG’s, Seymour Duncan’s, or something around that area. You may also need to adjust the action for faster playing. Some examples are brands like; ESP, B.C. Rich, Dean, Jackson, and some Gibsons like the Flying V, Explorer, Firebird, and SG.

All guitars have their own unique sound depending on the brand. If you notice you will always see certain guitars used in specific genres. There is no "heavy metal guitar." Guitar players use different devices, and amplifiers to deliver the type of sound along with the guitar’s unique pick-up devices. You can build your own guitar if you are up for the challenge or get one customized. I suggest you visit a guitar store and ask questions and test out various guitars or purchase a guitar magazine and so some research on your own.

The differences between electric guitars tend to involve the hardware and the electronics (and the wood they’re made from . Single coil pickups are great for a vintage sound, but ‘humbucking’ pickups are louder and less prone to hum (hence the name); guitars without tremolos such as the Telecaster stay in tune for longer than guitars with tremolos, such as the Stratocaster; heavy metal guitars often feature ‘locking trems’ that enable you to bend strings down several notes and spring back up again, and so on. As with acoustics, you can also get 12-string models – and again, they’re great if you want a jangly guitar sound but expect to pay a lot more than for a standard six-string. Twelve-string electric guitars are also very, very heavy.

A heavy metal guitar is a type of electric guitar, the body tends to be pointier, the colours stand out more and they may have patterns on them such as flames. The pickups are different too, if you want to make a normal electric guitar really heavy sounding, either change the pickups to something like EMGs or just turn the gain and bass up on your amp. An example of a metal guitar is a Dean Razorback.
