Vocally, what is the biggest difference between black and death metal?

Be serious, don’t be like Black Metal sucks or Death Metal sucks.

Black metal vocals can almost be a head voice whereas death metal vocals are from the gut. Black metal vocals are much more piercing and harsh in my opinion. They can convey more feeling and be more variable. There is not much range with death metal vocals.

well vocally alot of the time black metal singers go for a more raspy, growling and deeper kind of singing, but there are of course exceptions, but yea, no screaming/yelling so much as guttral and growling

Death Metal is more lower pitched, guttural, and gargly whereas Black Metal is more higher pitched, piercing and screamy.
