how do u figure square feet in metal roofing?

Posted by admin on May 23rd, 2010 and filed under metal roofing | 6 Comments »

my roof is 45 feet long and its 30 feet wide?please help, the metal roofing sheets are 36 square feet wide and how many do i need to do my roof

If your ridge length is 45′ long, and your panel lengths are 15′ long on each side (30′ wide total)

Most metal roofing sheets are 36 inches wide. I will base my figures on this, also remembering that in an earlier question you had mentioned something similar to this.

If this is the case you will need 30 panels @ 15′ long = 450 lineal feet = 1350 square feet.

Here are drawings showing this, as well as showing estimated amounts of trims and accessories you might need:

Of course different suppliers may have slightly different trims etc.. so you’ll want to ask them for more specifics as to what they recommend.
