I have a leak on the inlet to my toilet cistern. I have bought a replacement metal coupling which I connected ok to the mains plastic pipe, but when I connect to the plastic threaded pipe attached to the inlet valve it leaks. What should I usse to prevent the leakage?
PTFE Tape. Like this:

Wrap it around the thread and then screw it in. Try to get it going the right way (with the thread) so that when you screw it on the tape does not unwind.

i dont watch this show but i want to get into it so is there a difference from these 2? i read somewhere that full metal alchemist brotherhood is just a remake of the series with more episodes…im thinking about buying full metal alchemist brotherhood season 1.
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood follows the manga very closely, and thus is similar to the original anime at the beginning. However, the first anime diverged from the manga drastically during the second half. The entire backstory is different, some characters’ personalities and names are different, and several characters (especially the ones from Xing) are omitted from the first series.
in Brotherhood, there is a greater emphasis on romance (roy x hawkeye, Ed x Winry, Lan Fan x Prince Ling), though it is still 80-90% implied

Studying bio materials and I need to know the answer to the above answer. Somehow I don’t think the answer is ceramics have metal components, but if that’s the answer then I guess I read to deep into the question.
Most metal surfaces are protected by an oxide film. Essentially these are layers a few atoms thick of ceramics on the surface of the metal.
Two good examples of this are Aluminum and Chromium in stainless steel alloys.
I am considering having a home built and I am leaning towards using metal studs as opposed to the traditional wood ones.
Anybody with any experiance in this area? Comments, suggestions!?!?!
Any problems with wiring or radio/tv reception? Lightning? Static problems? I was told early metal studs caused grime & dust to be attracted to the walls…
The termite issue is one of my main concerns being that I live in the South. I also am considering metal studs because of the lessened fire risks & cheaper insurance rates.
Fire and Ice – that is an interesting point that I would have never though of. Thanks for letting me know!
On top of the reduced risk of termite infestation, there’s the fire resistance factor, no warpage, twisting, moving because of moisture absorption, and the fact that they are all straight when they are installed. Metal is being more widely used every day in the building trades and is proving itself worthy. Besides, it saves some of our trees.
We did a lab in science and i need to find out what solutions where acidic, and which were basic (Alkaline) we put pieces of magnesium metal into each Solution, one of them fizzled and bubbled, one sank, and one floated.
active metals react with acids to produce hydrogen gas.
magnesium is an active metal
hydrogen gas makes the magnesium float
it does not react with the base
